On 17 January 2026, Surya Memorial Foundation, in collaboration with the residents of Gandhinagar, conducted the Equality Pongal Festival with the theme “Let Pongal overflow with joy and let unity grow.” The festival aimed to strengthen social harmony, equality, and community bonding through a shared cultural celebration.

The event featured traditional games, competitions, and cultural performances such as Parai Attam and Kummi Dance, with enthusiastic participation from children, youth, women, and elders. Special guests addressed the gathering and encouraged values of unity and mutual respect. The celebration successfully revived traditional arts, enhanced community participation, and created a joyful and memorable experience for the entire village.
